Backpack Drive
LEFSA is requesting backpacks to distribute among people who are homeless in shelters or on the streets.
You can improve the lives of people who are homeless by asking members of your church, school, business, club, family, or group of friends to participate in this drive. Just ask each person to contribute a backpack (new or gently used), and then send or bring them to LEFSA. Alternatively, you can ask people to contribute to purchasing one or more backpacks as a group.
You can also visit our Amazon Wish List to find a range of options in backpacks and other needed items. This allows you to have the items shipped directly to us with no work required on your part, and with free shipping in many cases.
The backpacks that we distribute serve as portable dressers and medicine cabinets for people who are living in shelters, in temporary housing situations, or on the streets. Through your generosity, they can have something to call their own, and a place to store and keep track of the things they need as they look for permanent homes.
