Today, the LEFSA team and community members had the opportunity to honor two outstanding individuals for their years of service to the Life Experience and Faith Sharing Associates community: Deborah Canty (17 years) and Georgia James (20 years).
We cannot imagine the personal sacrifices that each of these team members made, along with their families and friends, to provide hope, support, sound advice, and authentic relationships to those who depended on them. It really takes special people like Deborah and Georgia to see a need in the community and respond with unconditional love. They are always willing to take time to journey along in the empowerment process of individuals who seek transformation in their lives.
Anybody can say they want to help people, but what these individuals did year after year—in rain, sleet or snow, sunshine or cold—was to set aside their feelings to let someone know that “what you have to say is important,” “your opinions do matter,” “you may be homeless but not helpless,” “we struggle, but we struggle well,” and “God loves you and so do I.”
We once again salute them both for all their wonderful work for God and the LEFSA community.
