On May 13, 2015, Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of NY hosted a convening of the Leadership of the Catholic Charities Federation. This event was a celebration and recognition for those who serve the most vulnerable in our city and the surrounding areas.
James Addison, LEFSA Operations Manager, was presented with the Catholic Charities Meritorious Service Award in recognition of his outstanding work for Life Experience and Faith Sharing Associates.
When he received the award, James said, “I am happy to accept this award, but I am accepting it on behalf of the team and the work we accomplish together.”
James became a full-time LEFSA Team Member in 1994 after overcoming his struggles with homelessness and addiction. He decided to devote his life to helping others in similar situations and to be an instrument of God’s love, compassion, and hope.
LEFSA was one of the 90 independent human services agencies represented at the convening of the Catholic Charities Federation. The evening brought together ministries from Staten Island and throughout the Bronx, to the Hudson Valley and the Catskills. Cardinal Dolan highlighted the Catholic roots and joint mission of these organizations. Together, they touch the lives of an estimated 350,000 people each year.
Please join us in congratulating and thanking James for his service!
