LEFSA’s Christmas Party

On Saturday, December 15 LEFSA hosted our annual Christmas Party.

The event started at 10 a.m. with gift-giving. Three separate tables were set up, with children’s toys, men’s gifts, and women’s gifts. We received a large donation of wonderful toys for children of various ages, and there were countless children in attendance that day. We were also distributing children’s socks. For the men and women, we had a selection of long johns, hats, scarves, gloves, and socks. Everyone received at least one gift and a pair of socks, and there was plenty to go around!

At 12:30 p.m. we ended the gift distribution and replaced the gift tables with more seating. By that time the space was packed… about 300 people came out that day!

The LEFSA team greeted the guest and sang “We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.” As we were preparing for the food to be served, Pastor Carl shared a few words with the community, and Daughters of LEFSA reunited to sing a few songs! About 20 people helped with serving the food. We had volunteers making plates and people who served them right to the tables. The meal consisted of turkey, ham, yams, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, collard greens, and salad. Our friend Barry sent us plenty of shrimp to add to the meal, and for dessert, each person received a bag of Christmas cookies.

It was Grace’s first time at the event, and she said, “It was so beautiful. I felt so much love at the Christmas party. It was the best Christmas party I’ve been to. It wasn’t about the Christmas tree, it was about the Lord Jesus. I was overwhelmed by the love that was there for everyone.”
